A 167-foot waterfall in a wooded gorge at Chittenango Falls State Park near Cazenovia.

Chittenango Falls drops about 167 feet through a wooded gorge at Chittenango Falls State Park in Madison County, near Cazenovia. New York State Parks describes a loop route that winds down into the gorge, crosses a footbridge below the falls for a close view, and climbs back out along a trail on the opposite side - a short, self-contained hike rather than a long backcountry approach. The park is open year-round from sunrise to sunset.

A vehicle day-use fee of $5 applies during the collection season, roughly late May through early September, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; an Empire Pass covering all state parks is also accepted, and a bus fee of $35 applies separately. The park office, open weekdays, can confirm current conditions, and a downloadable trail map plus an Avenza digital map are available through the park's website for navigating the gorge trail and footbridge crossing. Leashed or crated pets are permitted in day-use areas, up to two per visitor.
