A guided underground waterfall experience inside Lookout Mountain near Chattanooga.
Ruby Falls offers a very different kind of waterfall visit: the attraction is inside Lookout Mountain and reached on a guided cave tour. The cavern walk and waterfall presentation are central to the experience, while above ground there are additional overlooks and visitor facilities. This is an operated attraction with timed admission, not a self-guided public trail.
Choose the tour carefully and reserve ahead through the official operator. Standard cave outings involve a roughly one-mile round-trip walk, small groups of steps and extended standing. The natural passages mean the cavern is not wheelchair or stroller accessible, even though some surface facilities are accessible. Lighting, sound and close quarters are also part of the visit. The operator lists slower and lower-sensory options, so contact guest services in advance if those would make the experience more comfortable. Verify current tour availability before traveling.
