A series of cascades and potholes carved by Texas Brook through a narrow gorge in Green Mountain National Forest.
Texas Falls is a run of cascades and plunge pools rather than a single drop, where Texas Brook has carved a narrow, steep gorge through bedrock in Green Mountain National Forest near Hancock. A footbridge over the gorge gives an easy, close view of the falls just steps from the parking area, making it one of the more popular quick stops in the region.
For more of a walk, the roughly 1.2-mile Texas Falls Nature Trail loops through the surrounding forest with modest elevation change, suitable for most ages. The recreation area has a picnic ground and is easily combined with a drive on VT-125. No fee is charged to visit; check the Forest Service page for seasonal closures.
